PSP
PlayStation Portable (Known as PSP), is the handheld game that made by Sony Computer Entertainment. Sony has announced about PSP in E3 2003, and confirmed it on May 11, 2003. Finally, PSP was released on December 12, 2004 (Japan), March 24, 2005 (North US), May 2005 (Asia), and December 2005 (Europe).
PSP is an entertainment platform that can play video, movie, music, and also display digital photo. It becomes the first handheld that using Universal Media Disc (UMD) as the media storage. UMD is tinier than CD but get larger memory than CD (1,8 GB). Besides that, PSP also supported Memory Stick (PRO DUO), Wi-Fi system, charge-able battery, Wide LCD, and analog stick. PSP`s network support the connectivity among PlayStation 3, other PSP, and Internet.
When it released, PSP is called as the handheld with the superior multimedia features. But this console get lower sales from the competitors, Nintendo 3DS that released by Nintendo. That sales was recorded from the first released of the two handhelds. That fact make Sony for redesign and released new PSP that called PSP Slim and Lite (September 2007).
